Guiding Principles
In a circular economy, plastic (or any resource) is used efficiently by keeping the material in use for as long as possible, getting the most we can from the material during its use, and then recovering it to make new products. We keep the molecules in play.
This gives a product a circular life, greatly reducing its chances of becoming waste and helping keep it out of our environment.
To help us get there, we created six Guiding Principles to accelerate this movement.
1
Support Policy and Legislative Efforts Benefitting the Circular Economy
2
Minimize Plastic Waste through Recycling
3
Advance the Circular Economy in the Manufacturing of Plastic Products
4
Support a National Recycling Framework
5
Support Markets for Recycled Content
6
Promote Sustainability Within the Circular Economy
